BATAM – Kepala Badan Pengusahaan (BP) Batam, Muhammad Rudi, mengungkapkan, investasi Asing di Batam diyakini masih mengalami perkembangan yang positif, meski pandemi Covid-19 masih melanda dunia dan tak luput juga yang dialami Batam.
Menurut Rudi, tren perkembangan investasi yang positif tersebut dapat dilihat dari perbandingan nilai investasi penanam modal asing (PMA) di Batam triwulan I tahun 2020 dan triwulan I tahun 2021 (YoY).
“Berdasarkan data yang dihimpun dari Laporan Kegiatan Penanaman Modal (LKPM) Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) RI, nilai investasi PMA di Batam mengalami kenaikan 122,8 persen pada triwulan I secara year on year (yoy), yaitu 76 juta dolar AS pada tahun 2020 dan 171 juta dolar AS pada tahun 2021,” ujar Rudi, Jumat (21/5/2021).
“Selain itu, dari segi jumlah proyek, Batam mengalami peningkatan 23 persen pada triwulan I (yoy), yaitu 438 proyek pada tahun 2020 dan 541 proyek pada tahun 2021,” katanya.
Kepala BP Batam Muhammad Rudi, yang juga Wali Kota Batam, mengungkapkan, dari data tersebut Singapura merajai realisasi investasi tahun 2020. Namun dalam tiga tahun terakhir, beberapa negara Eropa juga mendominasi investasi asing di Batam.
“Pada 2020, Luxembourg, Jerman, dan Swiss menempati posisi tujuh teratas PMA berdasarkan negara. Sedangkan pada triwulan 1 tahun 2021, Jerman berada pada posisi pertama dengan tujuh proyek atau total investasi senilai 69 juta dolar AS,” ujar Rudi.
Ia melanjutkan, hal ini menyiratkan iklim berusaha di Kota Batam telah mengalami peningkatan dan menuai respons positif dari para pelaku usaha di Eropa.
“Melihat tren yang terus berkembang ini, kami rasa pertumbuhan investasi PMA ini harus dijaga dan ditingkatkan, mengingat pelaku usaha dari beberapa negara Eropa semakin mengukuhkan posisinya sebagai PMA di Kota Batam,” pungkas Rudi. (KG/PAN)
